As promised here is that “starter” vintage watch I mentioned in my post from yesterday.
A Mido Commander Ocean Star Automatic Model 8269
First launched in 1959, the design of Mido’s most famous collection – Commander – has basically remained the same over the decades.
It is one of the very few real classics of the watch industry that can be identified by its unique one-piece case styling. It is a watch that is appreciated by connoisseurs and collectors of Swiss timepieces and is meant to be a daily wear watch and not locked away somewhere.
Featured inside the highly polished case and band, is the famous Swiss made ETA 2836/6-2 25 jewels Swiss Automatic movement that is in working condition and recently serviced.
Functions include a Day/Date calendar, window display in either Chinese and English that is pretty unique.
The case has been given a highly polished finish and is a solid 316L Stainless steel, 1 piece construction (core).
The raised crystal is made of acrylic and shows little signs of wear. The dial is Silver Satin in colour with applied polished silver markers. Hands are steel and Tritium luminous filled, Index style.
The case back is solid stainless steel with a factory engraved logo and serial number XXXX0368.
It’s sports style original tri-fold clasp band is made of solid AISI 316L Stanless Steel with an engraved factory logo and comes with a couple of extra links
